Meet & Greet - Arranging your first walk

Firstly, use the “Contact Us” section of our website to get in touch. We will then email you a registration form. Once we have received this back, we can arrange a free consultation at your home. During this visit, you’ll have the opportunity to meet us, ask any questions, and share more about your dog. This relaxed environment helps us understand your dog’s routine, personality, and any specific needs or behaviours. It also gives your dog the chance to meet us in a familiar setting, helping to build trust right from the start.

About Our Walks

We offer both 30- and 60-minute solo walks, tailored to your dog’s individual needs. We don’t usually offer group walks — we believe that one-on-one time gives your dog the full attention they deserve, ensures a walk that matches their pace and personality, and helps build a stronger, more trusting bond.

In our experience, an hour’s walk can be too much for many dogs — especially on a daily basis. That’s why we generally recommend the 30-minute option for regular walks. It gives your dog plenty of time to stretch their legs, go to the toilet, and break up their day while you're out — and it helps keep costs down for you too.

If your dog needs a bit more time or company, we also offer a combined visit: a 30-minute walk followed by 30 minutes spent with them at home or playing in the garden. This is ideal for dogs who enjoy extra attention, companionship, or a little more stimulation during the day.

If you're interested in this option or feel your dog would benefit from a longer walk or visit, just let us know at the meet and greet. We’re happy to chat about what works best for them.

SOLO DOG WALKS

  • We offer 30- or 60-minute one-on-one walks, completely tailored to your dog’s pace, energy level, and personality. Whether your dog enjoys a steady walk, a slower wander with plenty of sniff stops, or a bit more of a brisk outing, we adapt each walk to suit them.

A 30-minute walk is ideal for most dogs — enough time to stretch their legs, go to the toilet, and enjoy some fresh air during the day. We also offer 60-minute walks for dogs who need a bit more exercise or mental stimulation.

  • Solo walk – 30-minutes £12 or 60-minutes £20

  • Extra dog - £5 per dog per walk

Combined visit

  • Our combined visit includes a 30-minute one-on-one walk, tailored to your dog’s pace and needs to keep them comfortable and happy. After the walk, we spend another 30 minutes with your dog at home — either keeping them company or playing in the garden to burn off a little extra energy. It’s a great way to provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation, especially for dogs who thrive on interaction and play.

What People Are Saying…

We used Hounds of Blaxtonville this weekend, as I was away and my wife was at work all day. Kirsty came to our house to meet our rottie Dave for an assessment and see what requirements we wanted. The first thing I noticed was how passionate she was and really confident handling a large male dog. We had no concerns with Kirsty having access to our home, and knew Dave would be well looked after. Kirsty was extremely knowledgeable and had lots of experience working with dogs. I would recommend Hounds of the Blaxtonville for home visits or walking services. Thanks, Kirsty, for all your help this weekend. We will definitely be using your services again.”

“Kirsty is incredibly intuitive and knowledgeable with dogs. My dog Ralph adores her and she is able to build strong bonds very quickly. She is a trustworthy and dependable person and I would highly recommend her as a dog walker/ sitter. Ralph can be nervous and reactive, but I trust her completely with him.”
